Mud cloth and cushions

Mud cloth from the Congo is one of Africa’s most unusual and unique textiles.

Narrow strips of handwoven cotton are stitched together into a whole cloth. Its then painted with patterns and symbols telling stories of their village, using a variety of natural dyes, including river mud that has been aged up to one year.

They’re great for home decoration, and crafts.

NB: TO CLEAN THESE FABRICS
A very gentle hand washing (never machine on any setting) in cool water with a very gentle detergent works, but even then, dyes may not be colourfast.
Note:  This is a handmade authentic piece of material and may have some slight imperfections or slight blemishes which add to the character.
